The one thing I never dreamed I would be able to have at my wedding was live music. I was so happy when my close friends of Cantua agreed to perform.
The drummer Victor Silva and I attended Platt College together. I heard Cantua first play at Platt’s holiday party. They rocked the campus. Dave and I started frequenting El Zarape Restaurant where they perform every (Tequila) Tuesday night. Unfortunately, due to….you guessed it…wedding planning, we haven’t been able to go the past few weeks, but I can’t wait to get back to the music (and the tequila).
They’ve recently played at 4th & B in downtown San Diego with Los Amigos Invisibles, Latin Night in IB, and at the Soda Bar. If you are able to attend the wedding, you will enjoy the sounds of Cantua that evening at Cordiano Winery. Preview their music on their website cantua.net or watch their live performances.

Dave and I spent this weekend apartment hunting. It seemed like the biggest choice we had to make was between a 1 bedroom with washer & dryer in the unit or 2 bedrooms. We opted for the washer/dryer so we wouldn’t have to deal with communal coin laundry. I think we were slightly biased based on our research we did prior to driving around and ended up falling in love with our favorite one.
The Highlands at Rancho San Diego will be our new home. Our apartment faces a beautiful park that we’re calling our backyard. I’m so excited to move in! I’ve never had a place with a balcony or patio and am going to enjoy relaxing on our 1st-floor patio. We like the balcony, but the upstairs apartments doesn’t have as much storage room as the 1st floor. The apartment comes with stacked washer and dryer, walk-in closet, and a full kitchen with a breakfast bar (not to mention a dishwasher…YAY!!!).
Here are a few pictures of the view from our new home. We are going to be getting the keys and signing the lease in the first week of April which is only a couple weeks away! I can’t believe how fast everything is falling into place.

I’m a perfectionist. I have to be in the design and development industry. So designing our wedding invitations took me quite some time until I was happy enough with them to send to the printer. The final design of the invitation is very different from the first drafts. Those fit the Colorado theme, but when the wedding changed to be in San Diego, the invitation needed to be revised as well. Note: the actual color will be darker once printed due to variations between what you see on a computer screen and what you see on paper. I’m very happy with the final design, and can’t wait to see them printed!
