Dear Bridesmaids,
After casually talking with you about dresses over the past couple months, it seems like no one really has anything they already own that they want to wear. So! I’ve made my decision about your dresses.
David’s Bridal has this really cute Satin Peek-a-boo slip that can be paired with a variety of cocktail length dresses. What I would like you to do a choose a black dress that you like that works with the slip. I really like this idea because it still gives you the option to pick a dress that you’ll feel most comfortable in and hopefully wear more than once. Who doesn’t need a black cocktail dress?
Since I have three wedding colors (red, orange, and yellow), each of you will get a slip in one of the colors and possibly a matching sash. I haven’t decided if I want the sashes yet. Thoughts?
Here are the dresses you can choose from:
This last one is part of David’s Bridal Separates collection that I wrote about before. If you prefer to do a skirt/top combination, get the Short Skirt Style 83389 and then you can combine it with any top in the Separates line.

Our new wedding invitation design is not complete just yet, but I found the perfect envelopes from Zazzle.com. The Dark Victorian #10 Envelope printed on formal linen paper is a classy design that fits with our theme more so than the standard white envelope. We’re going to get address labels printed since it’s black paper. And thanks to Zazzle, our return address will be printed on the back flap of the envelopes.

I enjoy creating web projects for myself. What better project than to redesign our wedding website? As you can see I’ve given Smitherrama.com a new look. It’s not completely finished, but it’s getting there. Dave and I hope to finish adding all the details to the site like Registry and Travel info in the coming weeks.
For the geeks in the audience, this is my first custom theme using the Hybrid WordPress theme framework. If you’re a custom themer you should definitely check out this super customizable theme.

Well actually this whole weekend has felt like Fat Tuesday. Now that we’re almost 6 months out from the wedding, Monday is the official start of my wedding dress diet. My Mom bought me the dress last April (thanks Mom!), and since then there have been parties, graduation, not to mention a Vegas trip with the amazing buffets. Oy, I seriously doubt the dress fits right now. Luckily, it’s in Colorado so I’ll never know. Continue reading “Today is My Fat Tuesday”

My original RGB color scheme wasn’t going to work for my new outdoor venue, so we’ve been mixing and matching colors for a couple weeks trying to come up with the perfect winery wedding colors.
Originally I was thinking a purple theme to compliment the grapes, but then Dave reminded me of the beautifully orange-colored house. Purple and orange together looked a bit too Halloweenish for Memorial Day weekend. I threw out the purple and worked from the orange, and found that I love orange/tangerine and red/garnet together. While this combo could look a little fall, if I add yellow here and there, it will look very warm and summery and will be gorgeous with the house.
