I’m an organization freak. So needless to say, after getting engaged I loaded up on wedding planning gear which included a couple wedding mags, notebook, folders, etc. I’ve also been a member of TheKnot.com for several years (never too early to start planning), but only now has theknot.com become a vital part of my life.

But before Dave or I could plan anything, we had to first make the biggest decision of the wedding—what city would we have it in? I’m from Colorado Springs, but I live in Dave’s hometown of San Diego. We are obviously both biased towards our respective cities, but we also were considering family sizes and how we could somehow accomodate both sides. Unfortunately, this will be a destination wedding for one of the families.

After a lengthy discussion of weighing pros and cons and just considering what we wanted to do, we came to the decision of having the wedding in Colorado Springs and then hosting a second reception in San Diego when we get back from our honeymoon.
First decision down! And a bajillion more to be made.
